EMDR and Neurodiversity: Working with Children and Adolescents

How can you work more effectively with neurodivergent children and their families?

EMDR is inherently flexible and client-centred, making it ideal for use with those who find accessing standard talking therapy difficult. However, therapists often lack confidence in working with children with diagnoses of autism and/or ADHD.  This workshop addresses that.

In this workshop based on research and clinical practice, Dr Naomi Fisher will introduce you to ways to make your EMDR practice more accessible for children and young people.  She’ll explain neurodiversity and how it intersects with trauma.

She’ll describe the common barriers faced by young people and their families, and give you practical tools in order to bring down those barriers and enable more families to access EMDR. This workshop includes training on the EMDR storytelling method.

You’ll leave more confident in working with children and families and with a better understanding of how to make EMDR accessible.
